What’s new
Every round of XS Space is now a freshly made map of rock and winding walls, in an arena twice as roomy. Bombs and mines blast craters in the rock, a Thor flies straight through it, and the new Terraformer item (F7) grows a whole new island of land wherever it lands. Asteroids of rock, metal, fire, ice and more drift through and shove ships aside, and the arena is a circle inside a storm that drains your energy and closes in as pilots leave. Your minimap stays dark until you explore. Green Xenite turns up four times as often, ships launch with 100 Xenite, and every wreck drops a glowing core in its element, worth 50 Xenite and two upgrades, plus at least two green orbs.
How to play XS Space →All eight XS Space ships have been redrawn in a bright, chunky style, along with the rock, the space backdrop, the item and weapon icons, and the game’s logo. The Weapons page now shows every icon next to what it does, with both icon bars labelled, and Top Scores shows the top 20 this month and all time, with crowns for the top three.
XS Space weapons →Chess has a new set of pieces: porcelain white against graphite black, easy to tell apart at a glance, on a calm sage-green board. The Chess logo and game card match them.
