Rules of Beacon Balance
Beacon Balance is a binary logic puzzle played with suns and moons. Complete the six-by-six signal grid so every line is balanced, distinct, and consistent with its links.
The objective
Fill all 36 tiles with a valid balance of suns and moons.
01 · Beacon Balance
Read the fixed beacons and links.
Diamond-marked suns and moons are fixed clues and cannot be changed. A small = link means the two neighboring beacons match; a ≠ link means they must differ.
02 · Beacon Balance
Place three suns and three moons in every line.
Every row and every column must contain exactly three suns and three moons. A line with too many of either symbol cannot be completed correctly.
03 · Beacon Balance
Never place three identical beacons together.
No row or column may contain three consecutive suns or three consecutive moons. This applies anywhere in the line, including at either edge.
04 · Beacon Balance
Keep completed rows and columns unique.
No two finished rows may have the same six-symbol pattern, and no two finished columns may match one another. Rows are compared with rows and columns with columns.
05 · Beacon Balance
Check the finished grid.
Tap an editable tile to cycle Sun → Moon → blank. Conflicts appear as you work; use Check balance when all constraints are satisfied. Hints reveal part of the solution and are counted in the daily result.
Quick reference
Four rules to remember
- 01 Balance Each row and column contains three suns and three moons.
- 02 Separate Never allow three matching symbols consecutively.
- 03 Differentiate Completed rows and columns must be unique.
- 04 Follow links = means matching neighbors; ≠ means different neighbors.
