The All Games, Daily, Board and Arcade pages now end with a short guide to each game on the shelf, with links to its rules and strategy guide.

Chess, checkers, backgammon, Connect 4, Reversi and Dots and Boxes each have a strategy guide: a little history, the ideas strong players use, and how to climb the bot ladder.

Daily puzzles roll over at midnight
Leave a daily puzzle open past midnight (Central time) and it offers the new day’s puzzle. It never reloads on its own, so a puzzle in progress is safe.

Easier reading in the light theme
Small labels, the rules pages, the daily panels and Leaderboards have darker text in the light theme, so everything meets the usual contrast guidelines.

XS Space bots with personalities
The XS Space bots are now LarkSpark’s eight characters, each with a play style of its own: some hunt, some snipe from range, some only fight back, and the higher the character’s level, the better it aims. Every wreck now drops a core worth a share of its Xenite, and bots race for it. Chevrons under each ship and the Xenite by its name show who is worth chasing.

When you finish a daily puzzle, the finish card lists the other dailies and ticks the ones you have already solved today.

Your record, and livelier backgammon
Board games show your wins, losses and draws above Start Game, and open on Play a Bot. In backgammon, checkers now slide to their point, hits fly to the bar and doubles pop.

The new XS Space
XS Space has a rebuilt game client: sharper on high-resolution screens and smoother on slower laptops. The eight ships now fly and fight differently, in element families with their own on-hit effects, and new items join the arsenal: the Brick, the Decoy, the Portal and Anti-Warp. Guests fly each element’s base ship; a free account unlocks the other four.

XS Space joins LarkSpark
XS Space, our top-down space shooter, now lives in the LarkSpark arcade. Fly into a shared arena with other pilots and bots, collect Xenite to upgrade your ship, and read the How to Play, Ships, Weapons and Controls pages before your first flight. The old xsspace.io address brings you here.
